Honoured by Wealthbriefing as best independent asset manager in Zurich 2023

06.03.2024

The leading participant of the asset management sector, Portas Capital AG, has joined an elite group of companies worldwide who have also had the honour of receiving a WealthBriefing award.

Portas Capital AG has been awarded Best Asset Manager in Zurich 2023. The selection was based on the fact that we have successfully managed occupational pension fund assets for more than ten years, generated gratifying returns overall on asset management mandates entrusted to us over the last five years and achieved steady company growth as a result of the team's expertise and customer service.

The awards honour the best companies in Switzerland, grouped by specialist area and geographical region, who the renowned, independent jury feel "have demonstrated innovation and excellence over the past year."

Each of these categories is subject to intense competition and a rigorous selection process before the ultimate winner is selected by the jury. It’s this approach that makes the WealthBriefing Awards so highly valued by the award winners.

The WealthBriefing Swiss Awards are part of a global programme run by WealthBriefing and their sister publication WealthBriefingAsia and Family Wealth Report and include all the most important asset management centres in the world.

The participants, who come from all over the world, recognise that the presentation of awards in such challenging times is especially important as they give the winners confidence in the solidity and sustainability of their business and operating models.

Commenting on the company's award, Beat Kunz, Head of Capital Investments at Portas Capital AG said: "The award inspires us to continue our company strategy in this form in the future and to keep striving to improve. Portas Capital AG’s investment philosophy is a combination of protecting capital during challenging times and generating good returns under normal conditions in the interests of our clients."

Stephen Harris, CEO of ClearView Financial Media and publisher of WealthBriefing, was the first to extend his congratulations to all the award winners. He said: "The organisations and individuals who have been presented with these awards are all worthy winners, each having put so much work into their respective contributions. Congratulations to them all.

These awards were independently and expertlyassessed based solely on documents submitted andanswers given to a series of specific questions thatfocused heavily on the client experience rather thanon pure qualitative performance indicators. This is aunique and, in my opinion, very attractive criterion. These awards honour the best in Swiss assetmanagement, where 'independence', 'integrity' and'real knowledge’ are the keywords throughout theevaluation process, which means these awards are atrue reflection of excellence in the Swiss assetmanagement sector."
